Fresno, CA, November 16, 2015 — Aetna (NYSE: AET) today announced plans to expand its footprint in Fresno, adding up to 225 new jobs by the end of 2017. The hiring activity will increase the company’s current Fresno employee base of approximately 770, making Aetna one of the largest private employers in the city.

The new jobs will support the company’s service operations for its commercial and Medicare members and will include call agents, customer service and appeals representatives.

Aetna currently leases 122,640 square feet in a building located at 1385 Shaw Avenue, and will invest in in facility upgrades, new equipment and furniture to accommodate the new hires.

The company’s expansion in Fresno will be supported by an incentive package recently awarded by California Competes, which includes state tax incentives.
